The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous organisation to help professionalize the country’s foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources, analysing and disseminating data and conducting research. IIFT has a strong heritage of more than 50 years and is recognized as the leading Institute in the field of International Business.

They have a portfolio of long-term programmes catering to the requirements of aspiring International Business executives and mid-career professionals alike such as:

  • Two-year MBA (International Business), New Delhi and Kolkata
  • Three-year MBA (International Business) (Part-Time), New Delhi and Kolkata
  • Executive Masters in International Business, New Delhi
  • Certificate Programme in Export Management, New Delhi


IIFT entrance test is conducted in paper pencil mode consisting of multiple choice objective type questions (MCQs). It is a 2 hours exam from 10.00 A.M. to 12.00 Noon which is proposed to be held in a single session in 20 test cities across India on December 3, 2017.

There are no fixed number of questions in the test, their number may go anywhere in the range of 115 to 130. The last two years had had 123 questions and 124 questions in MCQ format. Maximum overall marks in IIFT entrance are 100. A penalty of 1/3rd marks will be awarded for every wrong answer. Therefore, you will have to be careful to avoid this negative marking by choosing the answer options with well calculated thought process.

The test is divided in 4 sections comprising questions on

  1. English Comprehension [36 Marks]
  2. General Knowledge & Awareness [25 Marks]
  3. Logical Reasoning [42 Marks]
  4. Quantitative Analysis [20 Marks]

You need to fill up the online form available on their website. The last date for registrations is 15th September, 2017, 5pm. You need to receive the admit cards between 6th November, 2017, 10am to 20th November, 2017, 5pm.

You can apply to these two MBA Colleges, namely, IIFT, New Delhi and IIFT, Kolkata, after your IIFT results are out.
